Drinking Water

In Europe, drinking Water (Table water) has more flexible rules than other water categories. It has no specific origin and may be obtained from different kind of sources, more common underground. But it can be any water type: rain, sea, lake or even glacial water. Therefore, drinking water is allowed to be bottled elsewhere than the original birthplace as it is required for Natural Mineral Water and Natural Spring Water. The chemical composition may be changed, and it can be any water that corresponds to the requirements of Drinking Water. Drinking water has no connection with the mineral amount in the water (in Europe). In some countries Drinking Water must not contain more than 1000mg/l of minerals. Please find out more about these categories in Learning Materials.
